Cebu Taoist Temple – Temple by the Hill

null

For me riding is an outlet to feel re-energized, revitalized, and to clear my mind. So during this trip I was looking for a spiritual type of feel while I was in Cebu, with my weary soul seemingly tired from all the traveling and the hustles and bustles of Metro Cebu.
Having lived in Cebu for a brief moment in time, I had the opportunity to visit some of the finest tourist spots in Eastern Visayas. Although not my favorite destination in Cebu like the Simala Shrine in Sibonga or the Yap – San Diego Ancestral House in Parian, the Philippine Taoist Temple should be in my top 10 list, and will be a worthwhile trip for some. Besides, who can refuse a good view of the city while having that calming effect on your body, mind, and spirit?

The long hard road to Aurora

The long hard road to Aurora
By The Pinoy Rider

If there is one thing I long for, but at the same time try to avoid in doing my epic rides, it would be to put myself in difficult situations. You might be actually saying how weird that statement is, but the fact of the matter is sometimes we all tend to do boring, routing stuff so a little adventure once in a while might actually be good. But oh boy, what adventure I got in this Epic Ride.
For those who have been following my journey, you should know that I’ve been to all 30 provinces in the island of Luzon, save for one – Aurora. From Matnog, Sorsogon all the way to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. Countless trips going up north, doing the Northern Luzon Loop several times – there is always one destination missing and the only one I haven’t crossed out in my Luzon island bucket list – and that is the province of Aurora. I always seem to sort of skip one particular province for one reason or another. But now that I have a chance, I made sure I would conquer Aurora.
One boring Sunday afternoon, and that’s what I thought. I didn’t know that a routine ride would be a trip of a lifetime for me.

Time to reflect in Lucban, Quezon – Kamay ni Hesus Shrine

Time to reflect. Time to give thanks and make a little sacrifice by climbing the difficult to reach Kamay ni Hesus Shrine.

– Took the trip inspite of of Bagyong Gorio (hey where’s the adventure if it’s too easy?)

– Reaching the top of the Kamay ni Hesus Shrine entails walking uphill and taking at least 300 steps (a big sacrifice!)

– Had dinner at Kamayan sa Palaisdaan in Tayabas.

– More or less 250 kms back and forth via the National Highway

Pictures ng mga Pasaway!!! – PinoyRider.com edition

If there’s one thing that ticks me off, it would be irresponsibe motorcyclists. These people put the disciplined ones in a bad light, up to the point wherein the general public stereotypes all riders as irresponsible, uneducated, and unsafe.

I will be constantly updating this entry as I get to capture more pictures…to let everyone know how NOT to ride a motorcycle.

IR Club Race at Kart Trak Boomland

IntraClub & Pocketbikes, IR Club Races and IR Open Club Races.

Last May 12th, I attended the 3rd round of the IR Club Race Series as a spectator and I had a lot of fun watching the races.

Hopefully I could invite my readers here to check out the remaining races this season (schedule posted in the pictures) because I’m sure you’ll have as much fun as I did watching the exciting races.

The location was also accessible as it’s only at the end of Buendia. It was actually my first time to watch a race (seriously) so it was a treat for me. Special thanks to Mr. Al Camba of Inside Racing for being so accommodating.

Here are some pictures.

Photoshoot with pro photographer KenjiroX

Recently, I was contacted by Paul “KenjiroX” Soliman of http://kenjirox.tumblr.com/ saying he wanted to do a photoshoot with me in Batangas. It could be because he saw how ugly the pictures I took were (just kidding). I know myself that I just use a point and shoot (and shoot hurriedly) whenever I do travel, so I really appreciate this opportunity.

Check out his beautiful work here.

I’d have to say that I was definitely impressed with the result.

Thanks again!

Motorsiklo Xklusibo – Atin ito.

Most of the time, whenever we hear stories or news about motorcycles in our local media, it would almost be a certainty that the topic would be negative – criminals in motorcycles (more popularly known, and incorrectly tagged as “riding in tandem”), motorcycle accidents, rider violations, and the like.

Motorsiklo Xklusibo or MX will surely be a breath of fresh air.

Where to eat in Laoag: Johnny Moon Cafe

Photobucket

I recently did my Extreme Northern Luzon Loop and as always, part of my trip would be a gastronomic tour. I stayed in Laoag City (and toured the nearby towns) for 3 days and experienced a lot of food. While doing my day tour photowalk, I came upon this nice, steady spot located right smack at the middle of the city. It was actually one of the recommendations when I was looking for one as I checked out FourSquare. And so, one of the places that gave me an unforgettable experience would be Johnny Moon Cafe.

The end of Luzon – conquered solo.

Recently, I finally reached the last town in Luzon Island – Matnog, Sorsogon.

A solo journey of some 1200 kms, I needed to go through a total of 7 provinces in order to accomplish that – Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and finally Sorsogon.

After countless days and kilometers of travel in my riding career, this will be my first foray into the Bicol Region. From the beautiful beaches of Quezon up to the majestic mountains and volcanoes in Bicol: This long travel made me see how beautiful the southern part of Luzon is.

While this isn’t actually the first time someone on a motorbike came here, as I have known riders who went on group rides to go here for a leisurely trip, or to complete a riding event, I actually went here with no real purpose in mind, as I consider myself simply as a person with an ardor for riding.

Honda CBR Redbull Replica

I had my first sportsbike, Bumblebee – a 2009 Yamaguchi Hurricane be converted into a race replica by Darkbenz. I was absolutely thrilled on the result that I knew where to go to right after I got my CBR.

Within a week of purchasing, I went all the way to Malabon City to personally visit Darkbenz in his shop.
